Candy Ritch Clinician-Palatka On 12/19/24 Candy jumped in and offered to meet with a CIT child client that had a complex case and required specialized services. Candy took the time to reach out to me to discuss the case further to prevent the client from having to be referred out for specialized services (that Candy is certified to provide). Candy went above and beyond with providing help and services to a Meridian client and being an all-around team player. Candy you are appreciated and a Rockstar! I am so very pleased to see that Candy is nominated. She is conscientious and very deserving. Our program has been short on staff and she has assisted me by also seeing clients at the ALF and doing their paperwork as well. Leigh is a team player and is always willing to assist when needed. Care coordination is grateful for her hard work and dedication and to have her on their team. Keep rocking Leigh as you are a rock star indeed!! |
Kenya Clemons Talent Acquisition Specialist I would like to nominate Kenya Clemon for the Rock Star Award. Kenya is a awesome employee. She is always striving for excellence. Kenya is not a member of the Engagement Committee nor the Wellness Committee. She volunteered to come to Lake City to help with setting up of the award table. On the day of the I Am Meridian Celebration, Kenya assisted with the I Am Meridian Celebration and Wellness Fair setup. She even helped the culinary team serve lunch. Prior to the Celebration, Kenya helped with gathering the narratives for the longevity staff. She was persistent in following up with supervisors/managers to ensure we received narratives for all our longevity employees. Kenya helped with putting the award bags together for all the award recipients. She was also one of the last ones to leave after cleanup. We need more employees like Kenya. Kenya exemplifies the true essence of a Rock Star: Excellence, initiative. | Joyce Larayne Wilson Customer Service Specialist- Chiefland Larayne is a Rockstar! On 11/6/2024 a client at the Chiefland office had been seen and waited in the lobby for the transportation company to pick her up. The client had been at the Chiefland office since 9:00 and the transportation company was due by 4:00. At 5:00 the client was still waiting. Larayne remained in the office with the client until transportation arrived at 5:45. When the client became anxious, Larayne talked with the client to help calm her and also contacted MRT, who responded quickly to support the client. Thank you to Larayne for staying late with the client and ensuring the client was safe and felt supported. Larayne has a big heart for our clients and it shows! We appreciate the difficult and important work our front desk staff does every day. As the first point of contact for people coming into the office (and for many phone calls), they are so important to and for our clients. | Ashella Fletcher Clinician-CCBHC Centralized Intake Ashella received the following feedback from a client that another staff member received: I spoke with Lewis, T 153198 today. She wanted to let you know that she felt like you did a really good job with her during her intake. She requested to have you for individual therapy. She shared that she doesn’t often feel comfortable talking to people about her life and you made it easy for her to feel comfortable to share and she appreciates that you took the extra time to listen to her story! Ladierdra Melecio Dietary Staff – Gainesville Why I am nominating her: She was so kind to me in my time of need. I know she was busy because I caught her right in the middle of the lunch rush. She didn’t seem to mind though and truly seemed to understand and care about what I needed and even though we had never met, and I felt she put my needs first. I came in and asked Ladierdra to help me because I needed some ice, and tongs because the caterer who brought food and drinks for the Executive Staff Lunch Meeting one day, didn’t think to bring what I considered necessary to have a proper lunch. The cater forgot ice for drinks and tongs for the salad. Have you ever tried to serve yourself salad with a fork without making a mess? How about tea without ice? Well, Ladierdra didn’t ask any questions, she just pulled it all together for me without me even having to explain. She made me look good when it was us as a team that pulled the luncheon off. I thanked her when I brought back the supplies, she had lent me that day. It could have gone very differently, but Ladierdra saved the day. She is my Rock Star! Nominated by Melody LaFlam | Shakerra Hill Lake City Shakeera has been with Meridian for less than a year, she learned the new EHR very quickly and helped others/trained people all while doing her own job. As you know we have been struggling to get clinicians here in LC; she has offered to drive from Valdosta to cover LC to see clients in person/groups anything that is needed. She has also been covering LO/Jasper. She is currently at 1 school in Hamilton county, running evening groups/seeing clients individually after hours to accommodate clients that have full time jobs. Nominated by Latifa Ranganadan | Jasmine Sapp Practice Services Coordinator I want to nominate Jasmine Sapp in Med Services for the Rockstar award. She is a CMA that stepped up when our coordinator resigned. There was a major backlog (500 +) that the previous coordinator left unaddressed. Jasmine took the time to address the back log and has since been promoted to coordinator. Nominated by Corey Porter |
Michelle RN-Primary (CCBHC) Michelle constantly speaks positively to the clients when they come into the dining room. Reminding them to keep going, on a good or bad day. Clients often come to her for advice and reports when they find jobs, when they have their babies, when they’ve reached a new level within their treatment plans. Michelle is very nurturing within her own department. I’ve seen Michelle pour into our team on a good or bad day. Michelle is constantly going above and beyond her call of duties, ensuring we all have what is needed for the clients and peers. Whether it’s a smile, words of encouragement or constantly seeking ways to improve our meals. She is truly a light within the organization and her team! Nominated by Irene Pratt | Latorya Robinson BH Recovery Specialist There’s so much I can say about Latorya Robinson. I’ve seen her keep the clients on their toes as it pertains to their treatment, ensuring they’re on time to groups, ensuring they’re equally held accountable, correcting them when they’re wrong, in the most genuine way. Today 11/6/2023, Latorya was speaking to a client- The client was having a rough morning. Latorya reminded her that, today can shift at any moment and that she should always be ready to receive that shift. Latorya began to have the client repeat affirmations to herself. As I was listening, I could hear the smile on that client. As that client walked to her group, other clients were coming off the unit, Latorya stood by the door and spoke positive affirmations to them one by one. It was the most wholesome thing I’ve ever heard. Latorya is truly a Rock Star, daily!! Nominated by Irene Pratt | Jasmine Sapp Practice Services Coordinator Jasmine always gives 110%. She goes above and beyond every single day. If you need a favor, she will always help you out even if she is not assigned to you as the provider that day. She always has patients triaged in a timely manner. She is always responsive in TEAMS chats. If there are connection issues with a telehealth patient, she spends the extra time to make sure the patient gets seen by the provider. When we were transitioning to SmartCare and had no prior information imputted from Essentia, she worked over the weekends to make sure the patients’ medications were entered into the system. That contribution alone saved me so much time and grief during the busy work day throughout our transition to Smartcare. Cannot recommend her enough for this award! Nominated by Lindsey Vallabhaneni |

Philip Flint RN-Primary (CCBHC) He is a primary care nurse here in Lake city, but has gone out of his way to help other departments (Mat bup &MTD clinic lake city and live oak, Bridge house and PCP in Gainesville, Recovery center and William manor in lake city) by teaching staff and getting the correct medication completed over the last 4 weeks for the smartcare EMR. This is not part of his job, but has not complained once and I think most people he has trained have done well with the new system. -Since the new SMARCARE computer EMR went live- he has gone over to the recovery center and William manors in lake city to help assist to get the medication update and in to the new system at least 1-2 times a week. -the weekend before the SMARTCARE launch June 26th he came to the clinic to help the staff ( DOCUMENTS TEAM FOR LAKE CITY i.e TX plans etc ) to get documents uploaded in the system of SMARTCARE. -Many of the tasks completed -he did not know the jobs, so he would work with a variety of staff members from different departments to get all the correct codes scanned for each document. Nominated by William Seay I nominate Sir Philip Flint I am Orchid Nantes Nurse Phil is very dedicated in all he does for his work, and he has a heart for all the clients here in Meridian. ![]() I Am Merdian Award Recipient | Valerie Pasquale Director-Prevention I would like to nominate my supervisor, Director of Prevention, Valerie Pasquale. Valerie has a can-do personality and was hired with very little onboarding training for her position. She jumped right in and started teaching Life Skills Trainings in Baker County when we were short staffed, while trying to acclimate to Meridian’s and CPG’s systems, policies, and procedures. She is always open to suggestions and very supportive in aiding with our Prevention Department’s needs. Valerie is truly amazing in learning to become a MHFA Instructor and learning and helping with the Marketing aspects as well. Valerie is a joy to work with, supportive, understanding, and encourages us to excel when learning new systems like Smart Care. Meridian is lucky to have her and she deserves Rock Star recognition. Nominated by Brooke Lupinacci ![]() I Am Merdian Award Recipient | Teresa Edwards Talent Acquisition Specialist I would like to nominate Teresa Edwards as a Meridian Rock Star. She is currently a Talent Acquisition Specialist and joined our team back in January this year. Why I am nominating her/Example of her Rock Starness: Teresa is one of the most hard-working, humble human beings I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She has played such a crucial part in building a strong foundation for the Talent Acquisition Team. She is always the first to volunteer a helping hand and jumps feet first into anything that gets thrown her way. Anytime we add or change something to our process, she immediately starts thinking of the next steps and gets to work right away. She’ll be in the middle of building a new spreadsheet or document right after the idea gets pitched to the team because that’s the kind of worker she is. She has the amazing ability to see something that needs to be done and just does it without hesitation – a very rare quality to have in an employee these days. Taking initiative and putting in the hard work is secondhand nature to Teresa. She comes in early, stays late, works through lunch, and rarely takes time off. She truly enjoys what she does and takes pride in her work; she knows how important it is. The results and milestones she has achieved here are substantial. Teresa demonstrates outstanding dedication and expertise in her role day in and day out. I am overjoyed to have someone like her on our team who is willing to go above and beyond to get the job done. The packs were distributed to several of Meridian’s outreach programs and donated to community nonprofits that serve people needing encouragement and support. Nominated by Cat Adams | Ayana Archer Clinician Starke I would like to nominate Ayana Archer with MRT for rockstar for her efforts with crisis intervention during hurricane relief. Ayana volunteered to work the disaster relief. We worked together for a week and a half. In that time Ayana helped to load and unload resources for those caught in the Hurricane. She provided mental health support to each person she came into contact with. She carried water and supplies to vehicles for those who could not. Her and I visited a trailer park in the area and supplied those who could not get out with food and water. Ayana maintained a smile and a great attitude while working the 12 hours every day. Ayana has showed compassion and concern for the community of Live Oak. Helping to provide them with the necessities and connecting the community with resources. She has worked 12 hrs during these days and has still shown up every day with a smile on her face and a go get ’em attitude. Her and I stood in the heat to pass out flyers for DCF so those who were suffering hardships from the hurricane would have the information to get supplies and mental health support thru this trying time. Since I’ve started in May 2023 at least 6 different employees have been provided shadowing. Not only this, but she provides continuous support and a helping hand to the forensics team. Due to grant changes this year for the first time in 12 years, we have been met with different challenges in getting clients services that they need. Tia Jones Supervisor – CMA Gainesville Tia Jones has been a fundamental component of our Med Services operations. She’s worked diligently to ensure her team can continue accommodating clients despite issues out of her control. A prime example of her commitment to Meridian was displayed during the hurricane. Tia’s birthday fell during the same time we had the hurricane. One of her CMAs was impacted by the hurricane, leaving a gap in the flow of work. Without asking, TIA came in (Although she requested this time off months in advance) and worked on the floor to ensure clients could be seen. I insisted Tia take a day off the following week, but she refused and wanted to ensure her team was cared for. This type of initiative is just one of many examples. As a member of the MAT TEAM, Carrie is the epitome of the words, “Team Player.” She consistently volunteers to assist her co-workers when she sees them struggling, helps them to become up to date and provides them with support in anything they need, without complaint. My personal experience with Carrie is, she has worked hard to earn her MCAP, she is a strong support and excellent role model to her peers and even when the internet is out, she has no phone that is operational, and cannot do anything online work related…she will call me, her supervisor, and ask if there is anything she can do for me or for her co-workers.
